June 2nd: Miami’s Backyard Birds

Brian Rapoza holds a B.S. in Marine Biology from the University of Massachusetts. He was an environmental science teacher, outreach specialist, and internship coordinator at MAST Academy in Miami and has led thousands of school children on bird-watching expeditions through Everglades National Park. He was named MAST Teacher of the Year, has served as Tropical Audubon Society’s Field Trip Coordinator since joining the TAS Board in 2001, and is the author of Birding Florida.

This lecture is to raise awareness of the incredible diversity of birds found in residential areas and identify steps for homeowners to ensure that these birds continue to thrive.
